Will Salus

Will Salus is Vice President of Product Management and Technology Innovation at Opteon USA, where he leads the company's valuation technology strategy across its suite of appraisal and AMC products. Based in Philadelphia, he brings nearly a decade of direct appraisal experience to his role — a foundation that shapes how he thinks about technology, what problems are worth solving, and what it actually takes to build tools that work in the field.

Will's path into product leadership ran straight through the appraisal desk. He began his career as a staff appraiser, working across residential property types before moving into regional management. That combination of hands-on appraisal work and managing large appraiser panels gives him a perspective that's rare in technology roles — he's sat on both sides of the desk, and he designs accordingly.

At Opteon, Will leads product technology, including tools purpose-built for appraisal report writing, field inspection, order management, and AI-powered valuation review. Much of his current focus is on preparing Opteon's clients and operations for the UAD 3.6 transition — helping lenders and AMC partners navigate what is arguably the most significant shift in appraisal data standards in over a decade. He regularly speaks on the topic at industry events and produces educational content aimed at making the transition practical and actionable for the people doing the work.

Will was named a HousingWire Rising Star and received Opteon's internal Award for Excellence in 2025 — recognition that reflects his commitment not just to building great products, but to the people and industry he serves.
