Robert Baird
Rob Baird is a State Certified General Appraiser and Regional Manager at Opteon Appraisal, where he leads a team of appraisers across the U.S. Based in Tampa, Florida, he has built his expertise over 35 years around commercial valuation, new construction properties, and complex valuation assignments that require thoughtful comparable selection, deep market knowledge, and the analytical judgment developed through years of industry experience.
In addition to his appraisal credentials, Rob holds a Florida real estate salesperson license, providing him with a valuable complementary perspective on the markets he serves. He also serves on the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) appraiser panel, supporting valuation services for veterans and military families.
This session offers a practical look at how an appraiser can build a sustainable, long-term career in valuation — from developing strong fundamentals in the field to taking on greater responsibility and eventually moving into leadership.
Drawing from Robert Baird’s experience as an appraiser and now a regional leader, the session explores the lessons, habits, and professional decisions that help appraisers grow over time.
The goal is to give attendees a realistic view of career progression in valuation and the opportunities available beyond completing individual assignments.
