Ken DeFeo
Ken manages the team responsible for updating the Uniform Appraisal Dataset (UAD), to better align with the evolving needs of the mortgage industry and enhancing clarity in appraisal reporting.
With over 30 years of mortgage industry experience, Ken expertise spans loan origination fulfillment, quality control, and servicing valuations.
This session explains how modern appraisal forms and data standards came to be, why UAD was created, what problems it was designed to solve, and how those decisions shaped today’s appraisal environment. With the rollout of UAD 3.6, many appraisers are focused on what changes.
This session steps back first to explain why change is happening at all, providing historical context that makes the current transition easier to understand and navigate.
The goal is to help appraisers see UAD 3.6 not as an isolated update, but as the next step in a longer evolution of appraisal standardization, data quality, and market risk management.
